Larson stated that he rea that only Human uses tools (now know to be false as birds drop things to crack and monkeys use leverage sticks) BUT he wondered… How do we know that odd things we find in Nature are not COW TOOLS ?? He realised later that his mistake was to make one of the artefacts liik like a human tool (a saw) – but it was still very hard to fathom this one.
I love that story! Gary Larson is brilliant (all “ah-ha” vs “ha-ha”). His only weakness is that, like the best comedy, when you try to explain it (usually while you’re trying to catch your breath and snorting some sort of liquid out your nose), it loses half it’s funny.
Cow’s tools are the new artefacts for becoming human civilization after the next global hulabaloo after the world’s new standards!! Woooaahhh foolkss!!! ;DD
